Xiamen Advertisement – ‘If I Were A City’

Xiamen - If I Were A City

China Mobile is currently running the G客G拍 (G-ke, G-pai) awards, where mobile phone users could submit videos (ideally recorded on a mobile phone) to win prizes and awards.

What caught my eye, was the winner of  Best Creative Advertising award, which was awarded to a video that promoted the Chinese city of Xiamen (厦门).

With minor errors in the English translations put to one side, it makes a very warming video and certainly creates an excellent impression of the city.

Here it is below:

You can view more of the video entries at the G客G拍 awards Youku submission page.

  • Nice commerical – reminds me of the “Pure Michigan” tourist campaign that has been running the last couple of years in the U.S.

Lovely video; captures the city fairly well, though more of Xiamen-Gulangyu’s scenery would have been nice. I’m not complaining at all though, it’s a great video.

I live in Xiamen – it really is a beautiful and clean city. It’s also very small, so if you’re not into sprawling Monopoly board cities, then you’ll like it here.
