Hu Ge (胡戈) is one of China’s most famous amateur directors. He rose to fame through his amusing parody videos that he directs and then publishes on Chinese video sharing sites such as Youku.com.
In recent years, Hu Ge has turned his efforts to creating parodies of 7UP and McDonald’s commercials. These parody advertisements went viral in days of being uploaded, and have been viewed millions of times by Chinese netizens.
His latest work, to be honest isn’t as great as previous outings, but you can be the judge. It is described on Youku as, “胡戈最新力作七喜最新科幻视频广告” (Hú Gē zuìxīn lìzuò qī xǐ zuìxīn kēhuàn shìpín guǎnggào) which rougly translates into English as: “Hu Ge’s latest masterpiece: 7-Up’s newest science-fiction commercial“.
