Founded in 1998, Tencent has grown into a giant. Now listed on the HK Stock Exchange, the Chinese company’s products and services are household names following over a decade of steady growth. Tencent currently provides value-added internet, mobile and telecom services with its most famous brands including QQ Instant Messaging and Tencent Weibo to name a couple. As of September 2011 QQ Instant Messaging had 711.7 million active accounts.
To further strengthen their brand image, Tencent recently released the “Brothers” microfilm. “Brothers” is a follow up to the 2011 “fingertips, hearts departed” release and continues to strike emotional chords with Chinese audiences, transitioning from last year’s story of family to a story of friendship. The story is about brothers (closest friends) and the pursuit of their original childhood dreams.
